Great stories are meant to be shared

The stories of Botswana private companies committed to strategic and holistic growth need to be shared, not only to draw attention to these phenomenal businesses and their impressive achievements, but to illustrate to the country that it can be done.

The Private Business Growth Award, presented by Grant Thornton in collaboration with Botswana Confederation of Commerce, Industry and Manpower (BOCCIM), is a great opportunity to share and celebrate their inspirational stories.

If you’re part of a private business that is implementing a growth strategy, and meet all eligibility criteria listed below, we encourage you to apply by 31 August 2015.

To be eligible, the private business must:

  1. be a privately owned business OR business ultimately held by company or people resident in Botswana,
  2. have audited financial statements,
  3. have a turnover of at least BWP 20 million as per the latest audited financial statements,
  4. employ at least 25 people,
  5. be a member of BOCCIM*, and
  6. have been in operation for at least 3 years.

*Applicants may register to become members of BOCCIM at the time of application for this award.

Finalists will be celebrated at a gala dinner on 28 October 2015 in Gaborone, with the winner receiving:

  1. a prestigious award,
  2. media and advertising promotion,
  3. complimentary one-year membership to BOCCIM for the year 2016, and
  4. complimentary outsourcing, taxation and/or advisory services from Grant Thornton to the value of BWP 25,000.
